Getting in
I'm a server and my restaurant uses ThirdStar. How do I start?
Ask your manager for the restaurant's join code, or for a link. You can also open the app and explore a demo restaurant without an account at all — nothing is saved, but everything works.
I'm a manager. How do I get set up?
Your restaurant's account is created by ThirdStar when you sign up. You'll get a one-time link by email; opening it and signing in with Sunday puts you in the manager console. From there you can add other managers and generate a join code for your staff.
Do I need an account to use the app?
No. Study cards, quizzes, and AI roleplay all work anonymously. You need an account for your progress to be saved, to be seen by your manager, and to be signed off.
What is Sunday and why am I signing in with it?
Sunday is the identity provider ThirdStar uses for sign-in. It means we never see or store a password.
Using it
The microphone opens but nothing comes through.
Check that the app has microphone permission in your device settings. If you're on a computer, use the mobile app — some desktop browsers record in a format we're still adding support for. If it's still silent, email us and tell us which device and browser.
The roleplay guest isn't speaking back.
Voice output needs a working connection. If the rest of the app is fine and only the guest is silent, that's ours — email us.
Why does the app say a dish's allergens are unconfirmed?
Because a manager hasn't reviewed them yet, and this is deliberate. ThirdStar drafts allergen information from your restaurant's menu, but it never presents drafted information as fact — only a manager can confirm it. If a dish is unconfirmed, the correct answer to a guest is always “let me check with the kitchen.” We would rather show you nothing than show you something that might be wrong at a table with a shellfish allergy.
A scenario says my restaurant hasn't set its standard yet.
That stage of service doesn't have a script at your restaurant yet, so there is nothing to grade you against — and we won't invent one and mark you against it. Ask your manager to fill it in under Greeting Script.
My progress disappeared.
If you were using the app without an account, progress lives only on that device and browser. Signing in keeps it with you.
For managers
How do I add a dish or fix a price?
Manage → your restaurant → the menu section. Publish when you're done; trainees see it immediately.
How do I confirm allergens?
Every drafted item shows as unconfirmed until you review it. Open the item, check each allergen against what the kitchen actually does, and confirm. Leave anything you're unsure about unconfirmed — that is the safe state, and the app is built around it.
How do I add another manager?
Manage → Invite a manager. You can invite into any restaurant you belong to.
Can I see what a trainee was told?
Yes — past roleplay sessions and the grades as recorded are on the trainee's detail view.
Privacy and your data
Is my voice recorded?
It's transmitted so it can be turned into text and so the guest can speak back. We do not store the audio.
Who can see my results?
Managers at the restaurant you're training for. Not other trainees, and not managers at other restaurants.
How do I delete my account?
Email [email protected] and we'll delete your account and data within 90 days. Full detail is in the privacy policy.

Email [email protected]. Tell us what you were doing, what you expected, and what happened instead — and which device you were on. That's usually enough for us to find it.
